With high temperatures across the UK, here’s how bowlers and families can beat the heat:
Drink water often – avoid alcohol or sugary drinks
Play early or late – avoid 11am–5pm sun
Wear light, loose clothes – plus hat & UV sunglasses
Use SPF 30+ sunscreen – reapply every 2 hours
Rest in the shade – 2–3 hours in a cool place daily
Check on older bowlers & little ones – they’re most at risk
Never expose babies under 6 months to sun, even in shade
Clubs – consider shifting match times and display this advice on noticeboards.
